BBT Elite Series - How To Enter

Open to all bass boats and a level that most anglers wish to achieve. The BBT Elite Series schedule is all booked and entries will open on Monday 11 November 2024.

10 Events in 7 provinces for 2025. This is going to be a banging series.

Quick Information:

1. The No Limit format eliminates the need to constantly have a possible 5 fish in the livewell, we counting EVERY legal fish.

2. On Water Weigh-in

Unique for this series is that we want to eliminate the stress on the bass and instant weigh-ins from the water provide this opportunity.

Bass can be weighed, filmed, uploaded and released instead of remaining in the livewell.

The use of Tourney X  also allows us to keep the biggest bass of the session in the livewell of the relevant boat and send a message to release the fish if another angler beats the bench mark.

This allows for all the excitement of the end of day weigh-in whilst keeping the stress of the bass to as minimal number of bass as possible.

How? 

In 2025 we are providing the option for each team to hire a Big Bass Tour Africa weighmaster that will have an approved scale and full training.

The weighmaster will be a junior 16 years+ and a little pocket money heads into their pocket as well as the experience of watching and participating in the tournament providing invaluable experience.

At this point it is not compulsory in 2025 but provides a significant advantage over the field as you will not have to weigh in at the weigh station during competition time.

In 2026 this will be compulsory but we aim to keep this cost on the side of a sponsor and if we get a sponsor for this in 2025 then we will make this compulsory.

ENTRY FEE

Entry fee is set at R3500 per boat and the R160 Tourney X fee.

The option to add a weighmaster is charged at R500 per day for the 2025 season. This will be billed separately and must be paid in full directly to the Weighmaster's the evening before each tournament day.

We request that Boat Captains bring cash for this purpose, they are teens who are spending a minimum of 10 hours on the water.

PREPAYMENT IS NOT REQUIRED however your entry is not secured and if the event fills up with paid entries we will add you to the waiting list.

TO ENTER THE BBT Elite Series:

1. On Monday 11 November 2024 the online entry for the Elite Series will be live. You are required to fill this in, acknowledge and accept the rules, code of conduct and waiver.

2. You will receive an automated mail with a link to Tourney X where you will need to register an account. It is free.

3. Within 24 hours you will receive an email to enter the tournaments you wish to participate in on Tourney X. Also Free at this point.

4. Once this is completed you are pre-registered for the tournament.

5. Within 24 hours you will then receive a link from Tourney X to pay for entry into the event.

6. Here you have a choice:

No Prepayment is necessary and you can even opt to pay on registration day BUT entries are not secured and no spots are "kept" for any reason.

Payment of the tournament entry fee can be done online on the Tourney X platform up to 14 days prior to the start of each event or can be paid at the registration desk on the day of registration provided the event is not fully booked.

If you choose to only pay the entry fee on the day of registration and in the unlikely event that the tournament is not full then a penalty of R500 will be charged and dinner on the Friday is not guaranteed.

Each event is open to 35 boats (except for the Bass Battle). This excludes the 15 spots already committed to by the BBT sponsors with our goal to have 50 entries per event for 2025.

If other anglers have paid for their entry and the event is full then you will be moved to the waiting list.

If the event is still fully booked and no cancellations have occurred 7 days prior to the start then you will not be able to enter.
