Angler of the Year - Ticket to the USA

The BBT Small Craft Bass Series will see a professionally formatted and calculated Angler of the Year standings where over the period of the Big Bass Tour Africa season, anglers will be awarded points across three crucial areas.

Whilst no AOY formula is perfect anywhere in the world, we believe our formula is a fair balance that rewards skill, loyalty and dedication.

Skill, loyalty and dedication are essential components for being a professional in any sport not just angling and that is why we have included all three components in our AOY points system.

Winning the Angler of the Year

For the BBT Small Craft Series this means a ticket to the USA, gear, accommodation and entry to two tournaments in the USA.

This is not a small prize and is probably the biggest prize ever be awarded in a Bass Tournament trail in Africa where we have already cut the entry fees to ZERO.

5. BassBonus.com loyalty points.

1. Finishing Position 

Top 20% of each field will be allocated points so in a full 50 angler field that's points for places 1-10.

Scores will be adjusted with our formula in the unlikely event that an event is not full.

This includes adjusting the points totals awarded, the more anglers in a field means more points awarded for making the places.

We will lauch the points table on our website shortly.

2. Power Hour Wins

The power hour will be on Day One at every event and we will award points for the top 2.

4 Points awarded for 2nd Place 

3. Big Bass Prizes

Every event will have an overall biggest bass prize and we will award points to the winner.

10 Points Awarded for every Big Bass Prize

4. Loyal Participation 

We will award points for the AOY standings for all anglers who compete in 5 or more events.

9 Events - 30 Points

The Bass Extreme taking place 13-16 December 2025 at Clanwilliam Dam is compulsory to attend in order to qualify for the AOY prize.

Sponsors are the lifeblood of any tournament trail and it is only fitting that the sponsors and their products get promoted and their generosity is rewarded. 

Points will be awarded for products purchased from our sponsors. Bonus points will be awarded if you hit the top 3 whilst wearing the logo of the sponsors.
