We start this week with a Congratulations to SABAA.
A big congrats to all the Champions who competed in the SABAA Nationals, looks like an amazing place and one we want to add onto our schedule in 2026.
Well done to SABAA and all the tournaments involved!
Our Journey So Far
We hope to support as many tournaments next year in solidarity as opposed to what we have experienced. We are here for the angler. This is reflected in our efforts across the board. We have even remove entry fees in the BBT Small Craft Series.
This was not an easy decision, but it was the very area where we envisaged the biggest growth and represented the biggest opportunity to get new anglers to take part and feel less intimidated about competing in a bass fishing competition.
The prize money is lower but it's FREE and imagine the kind of growth we can achieve with that. Imagine the diversity of entrants we can get just because we have eliminated that cost. Our vision is to find that one angler who needs that small leg up to take the next step.
The Big Bass Tour Africa has not taken a cent out of the sponsorship pool of any other tournament trail as we have not asked for a single cent, a packet of bait or even a cap. We have opened the doors to locally manufactured brands to advertise their products FREE at every event regardless of whether they may compete with our brands.
Our brands can withstand the competition, there is a place for EVERYONE. The Big Bass Tour Africa can withstand the abuse from spineless cowards, if a brand we have is weak and woke, they can move on.
We want to promote our brands, promote Africa and promote outdoor life, support Adventure Ministry and if it's God's plan wake up in a decade with 20 tournament trails and thousands of kids, dads and moms spending time outdoors!
THAT IS OUR VISION.
Some thank yous are due to Milha Boat which is really such an awesome product, and we approached the team here and they have agreed to do a 10-boat sponsorship which we will use to give to those that are wanting to enter but may not have the best type of craft.
We will also use these boats for the BBT High School League, we want ALL the anglers that compete using the same boat. This eliminates the “class” gap and levels the playing field as much as possible.
Talking about the BBT High School League, we launched it on Monday and have 9 schools already getting their forms in. This could be the biggest uptake in bass and angling and when we get to 16 we have such an incredible idea for these kids!
If you visited our site recently, you would notice we added the BBT Live tab. This is our digital platform that is going to drive our growth to make the Big Bass Tour Africa the biggest bass fishing series in the Southern Hemisphere.
We are also creating original content that will be showcasing our incredible content and we have opened applications for anglers to join our shows. We obviously cannot give a detailed play by play as it is a production but there is a link below to the show descriptions that we have released and booked for production.
We would welcome your suggestions or even nominating yourself is great, we here to find the Dricus Du Plessis of Bass Fishing! If that is you then PLEASE let us know.
Remember we are not affiliated, 4/5 partners are US based and there is not a negative bone in our DNA, we just defend our team and strike back at untruth. So 99% of the time when you apply it is literally looking at a new face.
It is a blessing and curse but we prefer to be independent. It takes out politics, favouritism and nepotism and it really keeps our focus.
You can view all the shows waiting for YOU here.
The BBT Live platform is part of a much larger Media platform being launched by Mad Rhino Gear and it is going to be distributed to what we believe will be over 100+ countries.
The opportunity to film content, produce it for viewers across the world is exactly what is needed to bring new anglers of a generation built around media to the water. We honestly are not going to stop until we have a champion from South Africa on those waters in the USA dominating.
THE KISTLER EXPERIENCE
We were fortunate to be able to become the distributor for Africa of Kistler fishing Rods, not just because the brand is phenomenal but the person behind it: Trey Kistler.
During being attacked, as any new player would, he stood in our corner. He is a staunch man of faith and his wise words and encouragement to keep going is what helped us use the negativity as a fuel to fight hatred, fight trolls and fight against evil knowing that God is right here by our side.
We are going to be welcoming this great man to South Africa in 2025.
Our final thoughts :
The good for the angler will shine through, the spite and hate is but a mirror of complacency, a mirror hiding your true intentions. Any independent association of a sport would welcome new sponsors, new tournaments, television and brains. Alas when your intentions are not pure, your spite shines through, when you realise you are left behind, we won't expect you to clutch on our coattails, we will pick you up and seat you alongside us. That is pure intention.
If you would be interested in partnering, we have not asked for ONE CENT in sponsorships, we see it as a partnership then please let us know. We have so many great visionary things coming that we could really make an impact in South Africa and beyond.
Until Monday! Have a great weekend, we head to the dam to test Relax Lures!
